Bowmore
One of the eight distilleries on the Islay island, archipelago of the southern Hebrides, Scotland. It was founded in 1779 by a local merchant John Simpson and had an expansion under the leadership of the next owner James Mutter. In 1890 the distillery was sold and became known as Bowmore Distillery Co. During World War II, the Military Aviation Ministry used the buildings of the distillery as a coast basis. In 1963 the company passed to Stanley P. Morrison, who rebuilt it. Given its geographical position, it produces a Scotch Whisky balanced between the intense of the banks of the south and the more delicate ones of the north.
