Flor de caña
To the north of Managua, Nicaragua, through the colonial city of Leon and the lush countryside, we arrive at Chichigalpa where resides the factory Azucarera (of sugar) San Antonio and the distillery Flor de Caña. The Compañia Licorera de Nicaragua is the only company in the world which produces in its plant, adjacent to the distillery, all the molasses needed for the production of Rum. Every produced Rum goes back to a single vintage (year) and is aged in toasted American oak barrels previously used for aging Bourbon.
