Glenlivet
Manufacturer of Whisky founded by George Smith in the early 1800s in the Valley of Livet located in the Scottish Highlands. Even if those years it was forbidden to produce and sell Whisky George Smith, thanks to the high esteem he enjoyed with King George IV, became in 1822 a landmark for all producers in Speyside. In 1823 the Duke of Gordon decided to introduce legal licensing to regulate the situation and the first one asigned to "The Glenlivet", which thus became the first official Whisky in the Scottish history and the only one to have right to be called by the name of the place where it was created, the valley of the River Livet. Among the main features that distinguish the products of the company there are certainly: the underground source from which it is drawn water rich of minerals; the high and wide stills that give the sweet and fruity character; the altitude, 300 meters above the sea level, where the distillery is located, an optimal condition for the perfect aging of the distillate.
