Island malt

The term which indicates the single malt Scotch Whisky produced on the Scottish islands. The only exception is Islay, which is considered a region of the production apart. The islands are not considered as a specific production region but assimilated to the Highlands region. The Whisky produced in these areas are generally different from each other in the flavoring and taste.
