Jack Daniel’s

Manufacturer of the famous eponymous Whiskey. Jack Daniel, born in about 1850, left the house very early and was raised by the family's friend Dan Call, a Protestant minister who owned a Whiskey distillery just outside Lynchburg. In these years the young Jack learnt the art of production of Whiskey and, in September of 1863, bought the distillery from Call. The Jack Daniel Distillery was licensed in 1866, becoming the oldest distillery registered in the United States of America. Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey is made with fresh spring water, pure and devoid of iron of Hollow. This water flows all the year to 3,000 liters per minute at a constant temperature of 13°C and it is almost free of iron. Near the source there was a statue built in honor of Mr. Jack Daniels, so he is to continue to monitor the precious source. Jack Daniel had a motto, "Make every day the best whiskey possible". This resulted in maturing his Whiskeydrop by drop through three meters of charcoal maple wood. Seven generations after the process remained unchanged: Charcoal Mellowing refines the rich taste of Whiskey before the aging process that will take place in the fresh white oak barrels, charred inside to caramelize the natural sugars present in wood, produced manually by the same company. Not knowing exactly when Mr. Jack was born and it is customary to celebrate his birthday in September, for a whole month. It is known, however, that he died in 1911 and was buried in the cemetery in Lynchburg, where his tomb emerges between others by the particularity of two chairs next to the headstone. It is said that they were put there to comfort many ladies of the place that mourned his death. Everybody wonders about the meaning of Old No. 7 brand, but unfortunately no one knows it for sure. There are various stories about it: that the recipe for Jack Daniel's was the 7th recipe or the 7th attempt of Mr. Jack; that it was the number of railway dispatch reported on a barrel; that Jack Daniel had 7 girlfriends; that the way he wrote the "J" looked like a 7; or that he chose the number 7 simply because it was a lucky number. Only Mr. Jack knew the real reason and took the secret to the grave.
