Luxardo
Italian liquor company founded in 1821 by Girolamo Luxardo in Zadar, Croatia. Today the site is located in Torreglia, in the province of Padua, because in 1944 the original home was destroyed and family members Luxardo were killed or forced to emigrate during the famous Istrian exodus, Fiume and Dalmatia. The best known of the liquor product range is the Maraschino, obtained from morello cherries.
